Allen Barton is an accomplished Playwright/Author, Director, Teacher and Classical Pianist who currently owns and is a Principal Teacher at the renowned acting school at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

In addition to directing eighteen stage plays, Allen has had five plays published (“Years to the Day” was anointed LA Weekly Best New Play and has been performed ten cities across three continents). His acting work in Los Angeles has earned stage, television and film credits spanning many years.

Also an active classical pianist, Allen was a prizewinner in the 2002 Los Angeles Liszt Society Competition, was made a Steinway Artist in 2010, has recorded five compact discs (available on Apple Music and other streaming services), and continues to regularly perform solo recitals on both coasts.

Allen is a native of the Boston area and a graduate of Harvard University. His 2017 book “The Oasis of Insanity” (available on Amazon) is a memoir of his study and apprenticeship with the late, great Milton Katselas, as well as a guidebook to the study and pursuit of acting in the 21st century.
Allen lives in Los Angeles with his wife, three children, and a black Labrador Retriever.
